Photo GallerySocial Watch Philippines (SWP) turn over 200,000 signatures to Senator Joseph Victor Ejercito in support of the passage of the Universal Health Care bill and Tobacco Tax Increase bill on Thursday, September 20 during a Manila Youth Leader’s Assembly held at Polytechnic University of the Philippines Sta Mesa. The signatures, which equates to the estimated annual number of Filipinos who will be prevented from starting to smoke if the tax on cigarettes per pack will be increased to at least 100 percent more than the current unitary rates, were gathered by SWP from different universities and families from poor communities in the National Capital Region.
